Clione vs ReFiBuy. The same loop, built for a different size of business.
ReFiBuy, from the people who built ChannelAdvisor, ingests an enterprise catalog, enriches it with human approval, distributes it to shopping engines and syncs it back. Clione runs its own loop inside the store: enrich, publish through your platform, then read the live page. If you are an enterprise brand with a feed operation, look at ReFiBuy. If you are a growing SMB, look here.

The verdict
Pick ReFiBuy if you are an enterprise brand or retailer whose catalog already travels to many channels and you want it run as one closed loop: ingest, evaluate, enrich, distribute, sync back and monitor, with a person approving each step. Its founders built ChannelAdvisor, and its customers include e.l.f. Cosmetics and Steve Madden.
Pick Clione if you are a growing SMB with a big catalog on Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce. Clione enriches every product, category and page, writes the structured data, the FAQs and the meta, publishes them through your platform's own API when you press Push and then reads the live page to tell you what actually rendered.
The same loop, at a different size
It is good news for everyone in this category that ReFiBuy exists. The team that taught brands to syndicate feeds to marketplaces now argues that a catalog has to be enriched, published and watched as a loop, not written once. ReFiBuy raised a $13.6M seed in May 2026, led by NewRoad Capital Partners, to build that loop for brands and retailers.
Clione builds the same idea for a different reader. Its loop ends on your own product page: it publishes through the platform's API, fetches the live page to check what rendered, and tells you when a PIM or the platform overwrites a field it wrote. Nothing goes out until you press Push.
Where ReFiBuy is stronger
- Distribution. Sending optimised data to the shopping engines where selection happens is the core of the product, and its founders spent years doing it at ChannelAdvisor and Rithum.
- Enterprise depth. Named customers such as e.l.f. Cosmetics, Steve Madden, Spoonflower and Freshpet, and support for Amazon's Alexa for Shopping.
- Built for developers too. API, MCP and CLI access to the engine.
- Funding. A $13.6M seed round, announced in May 2026.
Where Clione is different
- Three store platforms. Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and headless storefronts set up with you. ReFiBuy's developer page names Shopify, with Akeneo and Salsify coming soon.
- It checks the page. After each push Clione fetches the live page and reports, signal by signal, what rendered against what it pushed.
- It covers the whole store. Products, categories or collections, and content pages, with FAQs across the catalog.
- It tells you whether it worked. Clione asks ChatGPT and Gemini whether they recommend you, and who they recommend instead.
- Built for agencies. One organization, as many stores as the book, one dashboard across all of them.

What people ask when they weigh both.
What should an agency ask ReFiBuy?
The minimum engagement and how long it takes to reach production. ReFiBuy publishes no prices and starts with a demo or a free Agentic Readiness Report, which is a fair start for an enterprise brand and worth pinning down for a smaller client.
Which platforms does each one work on?
Clione works on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and on headless storefronts set up with your developers. ReFiBuy's developer page names Shopify, with Akeneo and Salsify coming soon, and offers an API, MCP and a CLI.
Does Clione send the catalog to shopping engines too?
To two of them. Clione uploads a fresh feed to ChatGPT shopping every day and builds a supplemental feed for Google Merchant Center. Distribution is the heart of ReFiBuy; for Clione it is one part of the job.
