Clione vs Azoma. One works the shelf, the other works your store.
Azoma, formerly Ecomtent, helps enterprise brands get recommended by AI shopping agents, from Amazon Rufus to ChatGPT, and watches what those agents say about each product. Clione writes the signals into the store you own, publishes them through your platform and checks the live page. If your sales live on marketplaces, start there. If they live in your own store, start here.

The verdict
Pick Azoma if you are a large consumer goods brand and a real share of your sales runs through marketplaces and retailer agents. Azoma is built for that shelf: it fills product attributes, maps the questions shoppers put to AI, watches AI answers for wrong claims about your products and ties visibility to revenue per SKU. Its customers include Mars, L'Oréal, P&G and Unilever, and its backers include dunnhumby ventures.
Pick Clione if you are a growing SMB and your own store is where the sale happens. Clione enriches every product, category and page, writes the structured data, the FAQs and the meta, publishes them through your platform's own API when you press Push and then reads the live page to tell you what actually rendered.
The shelf you don't own
Azoma's founder, Max Sinclair, came from Amazon, and it shows in the best way. The agents Azoma names first are Amazon Rufus, Walmart Sparky and Alexa for Shopping, and its content work extends to the sources AI assistants cite. For a brand whose products sit on someone else's shelf, that is the right fight.
Clione picks the other fight: the store you own. It writes into your product pages through Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce, keeps the last three versions of every change, and tells you when a PIM or the platform overwrites a field it pushed. The question to put to any tool in this space is the same one: what exactly lands on my own product page, and who checks it?
Where Azoma is stronger
- Marketplaces and retailer agents. Amazon Rufus, Walmart Sparky and Alexa for Shopping, as well as ChatGPT, Gemini, Meta AI and Claude. Clione measures ChatGPT and Gemini only.
- Wrong answers, caught. Answer Integrity watches AI answers for inaccurate product claims and competitor misrepresentation, with a Push fix step. Clione does not check the facts in an assistant's answer.
- Content beyond the store. PDP copy, blog content and syndication to the sources AI agents cite. Clione writes no blog posts.
- Enterprise references. Mars, L'Oréal, P&G and Unilever, and a $4M pre-Series A in December 2025.
Where Clione is different
- It publishes in your store and checks the page. Signals go out through the platform's own API, and after each push Clione fetches the live page and reports what rendered against what it pushed.
- It writes what machines read on your domain. A JSON-LD graph on every product page, FAQs across the catalog, keywords and meta, and a plain-text document per product served on your store's own domain.
- It covers the whole store. Products, categories or collections, and content pages.
- It sends the catalog where shopping agents read it. A daily feed to ChatGPT shopping and a supplemental feed to Google Merchant Center, from the enriched catalog.

What people ask when they weigh both.
What should I ask Azoma before I sign?
What it publishes directly in your own store, not on Amazon. Azoma syncs product data from marketplaces, PIMs and Shopify and offers a Push fix for wrong AI answers; how changes reach your own product pages is not something we found documented.
Does Clione cover Amazon Rufus or Walmart?
No. Clione works on the store you own and asks ChatGPT and Gemini whether they recommend you. Azoma covers retailer agents such as Amazon Rufus, Walmart Sparky and Alexa for Shopping. If the marketplace shelf is where you sell, that is Azoma's ground.
Which platforms does each one work on?
Clione works on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and on headless storefronts set up with your developers. Azoma lists Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, PIM systems and Google Merchant Center as sources it syncs from.
