Clione vs Geostar. One does the work for you, the other is what you do it with.
Geostar is a managed GEO agency for Shopify brands: a team that works on your catalog, schema, content and citations, and reports to you every month. Clione is software: it writes the signals search engines and AI assistants read, publishes them in your store and checks the live page. If you want it done for you, talk to Geostar. If you or your agency want to run it, start here.

The verdict
Pick Geostar if you are a Shopify brand with no SEO team and no wish to build one. Geostar calls itself "an embedded growth team, powered by humans, that does the work for you": it audits the catalog, works on schema, llms.txt and product pages, writes blog and citation-ready content, chases off-site mentions and reports every month. Nothing publishes without your approval.
Pick Clione if you, or the agency you work with, want to run the work yourselves on Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce. Clione enriches every product, category and page, writes the structured data, the FAQs and the meta, publishes them through your platform's own API when you press Push and then reads the live page to tell you what actually rendered.
For an agency, a competitor
Geostar is a service. That is not a criticism: for a brand without the people, a team that does the work and shows up monthly with a report is exactly what to buy. Its founders built and sold an ecommerce optimisation startup before this one, and it shows in how clearly the offer is packaged.
It does change who it is for. If you run an agency, Geostar sells the same work you sell, to the same Shopify brands. Clione sits on the other side of that line: one organization holds every client store, each with its own quotas and roles, and one dashboard shows coverage and AI mentions for every client side by side. Geostar is who you pitch against; Clione is what you pitch with.
Where Geostar is stronger
- It is done for you. A team does the work and meets you monthly. Clione needs someone to press Push.
- Content and citations off the store. Blog posts, citation-ready content and off-site mentions. Clione writes no blog posts and builds no citations.
- Results it publishes. An unnamed apparel brand whose AI citation share moved from 4% to 31% in 90 days, by Geostar's own account.
- Brands it names. KIM+ONO, SHEFIT and Arcade Belts are among the brands on its site.
Where Clione is different
- It is software. It runs on the whole catalog, without anybody at our end touching your products.
- It checks the page. After each push Clione fetches the live page and reports what rendered against what it pushed, and warns when a PIM or the platform overwrites a field it wrote.
- It goes beyond Shopify. Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and headless storefronts set up with you.
- Your voice, your model. The brand sheet, the documents, the prompt itself, and your own model and key.

What people ask when they weigh both.
What should I ask a managed GEO service?
Which part is software and which part is a person, and what happens to the changes if you leave. Geostar asks for 30 days' notice to cancel; ask what stays on your store after that.
I run an agency. Is Geostar a partner or a competitor?
A competitor, for the work itself: Geostar sells the GEO work your agency would sell. Clione is built to be used by agencies, with one organization holding every client store, roles per person and one dashboard across them all.
Which platforms does each one work on?
Clione works on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and on headless storefronts set up with your developers. Geostar's ecommerce service is built around Shopify, and onboarding connects Shopify and GA4.
