Clione vs Comergent AEO. Close on paper. Different in the loop.
Comergent AEO is a Shopify app that tracks AI answers, optimises products, generates llms.txt and attributes sales to AI recommendations. Clione does much of the same on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and adds the step after the push: it reads the live page and tells you what rendered.

The verdict
Pick Comergent AEO if you are on Shopify and want one installed app that tracks AI answers, optimises products and collections, writes your llms.txt and tells you which sales came from AI recommendations. It has been on the App Store since April 2025, carries the Built for Shopify badge, and several recent reviews credit it with revenue they could attribute.
Pick Clione if you want the whole catalog worked on and the result checked: every product, category, collection and content page enriched, the structured data and FAQs published through your platform's own API, and the live page read back to say what rendered. Or if your store is on BigCommerce or WooCommerce.
Close on paper
Put the two feature lists side by side and they rhyme: measure what assistants say, improve the product data, give agents a file to read, count the sales. Comergent AEO is the Shopify app closest to Clione's own shape, and it is worth saying so.
The difference is in what happens after the write. Clione treats a push as a claim to be checked: it fetches the live page, compares signal by signal, and flags the entity when the platform or a PIM later overwrites a field, with the field and the date. Comergent's listing does not describe a check of the storefront page; that is not documented, which is not the same as absent, so ask.
The other difference is how you pay to start. Comergent's pricing page lists three monthly plans: Starter at $899, Growth at $1,499 and Pro at $2,499 a month. Its Shopify listing bills in credits at $1 each, with a minimum purchase of $899. For a large catalog that may be simple; for a small store it is the number to weigh before the first month.
Where Comergent AEO is stronger
- Track record. Live since April 2025, rated 4.3 out of 5 from 13 reviews, with the Built for Shopify badge. Clione is in beta.
- More assistants measured. Two to four by plan, from ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot, against Clione's ChatGPT and Gemini.
- Install it today. It is a public Shopify app with competitor tracking and ad tracking built in; Clione is taking selected clients.
Where Clione is different
- It checks the page. After each push, Clione reports what rendered against what it pushed, and re-checks on a cadence.
- It covers the whole store. Products, categories, collections and content pages, with a JSON-LD graph on every product page.
- No shopper data. Clione reads a copy of recent orders for attribution with no name, email, address or customer id in it, and stores it in the EU.
- It measures honestly. AI-referred orders come with a noise range, and a source it cannot measure is named as such.
- More than one platform. Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and headless set up with you.
Sources
Facts about Comergent AEO were read on 15 October 2026 from its Shopify App Store listing and its pricing page. "Not documented" means we found no public source for it, not that it does not exist. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
What people ask when they weigh both.
Which one measures more AI assistants?
Comergent AEO. Its pricing page names ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot, two to four of them depending on the plan; its Shopify listing names Grok instead of Copilot. Clione asks ChatGPT and Gemini, and shows who they recommend instead of you when they stop naming you.
How does each one show sales from AI?
Comergent AEO tracks sales from AI recommendations inside the app. Clione, with Google Analytics connected, matches orders to the visits that produced them and shows each figure with the range that says when a difference may be noise; a source it cannot measure is labelled, never shown as zero.
Which platforms does each one work on?
Comergent AEO is a Shopify app. Clione works on Shopify, BigCommerce and WooCommerce, and on headless storefronts set up with your developers.
