## The verdict

**Pick OnCatalog** if your catalog has to sell in several countries and the problem is the copy itself: what a buyer in each market objects to, what they search for, what each channel expects to see. That is the trade OnCatalog comes from. Ontranslation, the company behind it, has spent sixteen years on translation and multilingual SEO, and OnCatalog puts that judgement in front of the AI, as a brief, before anything is written.

**Pick Clione** if the problem is that search engines and AI assistants cannot read your catalog well enough to recommend it. Clione enriches every product, category and page, writes the structured data, the FAQs and the meta, publishes them through your platform's own API and then reads the live page to tell you what actually rendered.

## A service, wearing software

OnCatalog's founder, Óscar Nogueras, describes it himself as a pseudo-SaaS: a platform with a consultative process wrapped around it. That is not a criticism. For a brand entering three new markets, a team that thinks about each market before the AI writes is worth paying for.

It does mean you are buying a different thing. A service scales with the people in it; OnCatalog is a team of five, built in 2026 inside a translation agency. Clione is software that runs on the whole catalog, in minutes, without anybody at our end touching your products.

## Where OnCatalog is stronger

- **Languages and markets.** Localisation is the core of the product, not a setting. Clione writes in your catalog's own language and does not translate.
- **The brief before the copy.** Four questions per product before generation: the problem it solves, the objections in each market, the search intent, and the trust signals each channel wants.
- **PrestaShop.** Nimdzi's Language Technology Radar lists it among OnCatalog's platforms. Clione does not connect to it today.

## Where Clione is different

- **It writes what machines read, not only what people read.** A JSON-LD graph on every product page, FAQs across the catalog, keywords, meta titles and descriptions, and a plain-text document per product on your own domain.
- **It checks the page.** After each push Clione fetches the live page and reports what rendered against what it pushed, and warns when a PIM or the platform overwrites a field it wrote.
- **It covers the whole store.** Products, categories or collections, and content pages.
- **It tells you whether it worked.** Clione asks ChatGPT and Gemini whether they recommend you, and who they recommend instead.
